Theme of the Month: Practice Systems & Leadership

Structured for Peak Season. Built for the Future.

Dear Members,

It is with deep humility and gratitude that I address you for the first time as your Chairman.

The trust you have placed in me is something I carry with great responsibility and deeper commitment.

Before I speak of the months ahead, let me pause for a moment of professional pride. The Chartered Accountants Act was enacted in 1949 - a full year before the Constitution of India came into force in 1950. This is not a mere historical footnote. It is a profound statement of the nation’s trust. India chose to give its Chartered Accountants a legal framework before it gave itself a Constitution - because the founding fathers believed that those who audit the books of a nation are the true custodians of its integrity and financial conscience.

As G.P. Kapadia - one of the most distinguished founding fathers of ICAI - embodied through his life and work: the Chartered Accountant is not merely a professional. He is a trustee of public confidence. That is the legacy we inherit. That is the standard we are called to uphold every single day.

As we step into March, our theme - Practice Systems & Leadership - could not be more timely. It reminds me of Arjuna at Kurukshetra, paralyzed not by the enemy but by doubt. Krishna did not give him new weapons. He gave him a framework - a way of thinking and acting with clarity under pressure. That became the Bhagavad Gita.

As CAs in March 2026, we face our own Kurukshetra - bank audits, year-end finalisations, and statutory closures all converging at once. What will separate the good from the great is not knowledge alone, but the quality of our systems, processes, and leadership - within our firms and with our clients.

Congratulations - New Leadership at Every Level

Heartiest congratulations to CA. Prasanna Kumar D as the new President of ICAI and CA. Mangesh Pandurang Kinare as Vice President for 2026–27. The profession is in visionary hands and we look forward to an impactful year ahead.

The Coimbatore Branch was privileged to be represented at the Delhi oath-taking ceremony by our own CA. G. Ramaswamy Sir (President ICAI 2011–12) and CA. K. Jalapathi (Chairman SIRC 2021–22), who personally honoured both leaders on behalf of our Branch - a moment of immense pride for all of us.

At the regional level, warm congratulations to CA. Subbarao Muppala on assuming charge as Chairman of SIRC. We look forward to a strong collaborative year. A heartfelt appreciation to CA. Revathi Raghunathan for her outstanding tenure as outgoing Chairman of SIRC - you led with grace and distinction.

Thanks & Welcome

Sincere gratitude to Immediate Past Chairman CA. Sathish R. and his team for the exceptional foundation they have built. We stand on your shoulders.

A warm welcome to our new Managing Committee - CA. Thangavel M. (Vice Chairman), CA. Lakshmi P.N. (Secretary), CA. K. Muthu Kumar (Treasurer), CA. Harish Kumar A.G. (SICASA Chairman), CA. N. Pravin Kumar (Member), and CA. S. Rajesh (Ex. Officio Member). Together, we are united by purpose, guided by integrity, and driven by service.

We are proud to have launched our Vision Document - !"?$% 2026–27, themed Analytical Intelligence - the disciplined application of knowledge with insight, ethics, and foresight. Built on nine Pillars of Action with a structured month-wise execution plan, it is our compass for the year - From Legacy to Leadership. I encourage every member to read it, reflect on it, and own it - because this vision belongs to each one of you.

February - A Month That Set the Tone

February set a wonderful tone for the year with a truly packed calendar of learning and engagement.

We commenced with a live Union Budget viewing session at the Institute - bringing the membership together in real time as the nation’s fiscal roadmap was unveiled. This was followed by a highly engaging Budget Analysis session featuring Adv. Vaitheeswaran and CA. Subashini Ganapathy - widely appreciated for its incisive analysis and practical relevance.

CA. Subashini Ganapathy also delivered a dedicated session on Charitable Trusts -

New Regime vs. Old Act, providing members with much-needed clarity on the transformed regulatory landscape for trusts and NGOs. The session generated excellent discussion and was very warmly received.

We further conducted Study Circles on Labour Code and Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), successfully completed AI Level 1 and Level 2 Courses, and organised a Zoho Training Programme - all received with tremendous warmth by our members. What an energetic start to the year!

March - A Power-Packed Month

Building on this strong foundation, March promises to be our busiest and most impactful month yet. The Branch is fully geared to support every member through this demanding peak season.

We kick off with our Bank Audit Seminar - a focused, practical session to equip members with everything they need to approach bank audits with confidence and thoroughness. Perfectly timed for the season.

Next, our Week-Long Refresher Course offers a comprehensive update across key areas of practice, compliance, and professional development - sharpening skills and energising members for the rest of the year.

And our marquee programme - the 10-Day New Income Tax Act Reboot - is an intensive, structured, clause-by-clause deep dive into the New Income Tax Act. This is not a seminar. It is a reboot. Every member who participates will walk away ready to advise, represent, and lead with full confidence under the new legislation. Block your dates. All three programmes are unmissable.

Our Audit Tidbits and Tax Tidbits continue to receive wonderful feedback from members, and we remain committed to delivering these practical knowledge capsules consistently through the year.

I close with the words of Krishna to Arjuna - my personal commitment to this

Chairmanship:

"You have the right to perform your duties, but never to the fruits of your actions."

- Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 2, Verse 47

Let us show up this March with full effort, full systems, and full integrity. New leadership at every level signals a season of energy and possibility. Let us honour that moment the way Chartered Accountants always do - with discipline, depth, and dedication.

Knowledge with Structure. Execution with Discipline. Leadership with Impact.

From Legacy to Leadership - together.

With gratitude and resolve,

CA. Survajith S. Krishnan
